I.About us

The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University is a large comprehensive hospital in Northwest China with components of patient health care, medical teaching, and scientific research. It is one of the select hospitals honored with the level-three class-A rank in China, and has been one of the first national "One Hundred Exemplary Hospitals." The Precision Medicine Center is a newly established international collaboration between the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Dr. Charles Lee, the scientific director of The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington, CT, USA. Bioinformatics is one of the key components in the program that is led by Dr. Wan-Ping Lee. The goal of the Bioinformatics team is to systematically integrate hospital resources and build an information platform for interdisciplinary scientific collaborations in the hospital.

Research directions and objectives: development of high-throughput sequencing analysis algorithms and pipelines, cancer genome analysis, disease-related structural variation analysis, single-cell sequencing analysis and microbiological data analysis.

II.Qualifications

a.Obtained your doctoral degree in the past 3 years,non-employed.

b.Having first-author publications in international high-impact journals.

c.Professional skill:bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer science and related disciplines.

d.Experience:whole-genome, whole-exome, RNA sequence analysis skills, single-cell sequencing or microbiome data analysis skills.

e.Programming skill:programming languages (C/C++/JAVA), scripting language (python/bash), or statistical related language (R). Excellent English skills.

III.What do we offer?

a.The university/hospital and the Shaanxi Province is jointly providing research funding for this position. The funding provides330,000 yuan/ yearfor outstanding post-doctoral fellows,210,000 yuan/ year forforeign post-doctoral fellows, and180,000 yuan/ year forother-level post-doctoral fellows.

c.It will be a two-year contract and could be renewed for up to six years.

IV.Responsibilities

a.Publishing one high-impact international journal papers per year.

b.Leading one national research or one provincial research grant.
